Sarah Ebuk

I’m a Risk Analyst at True Potential, working as a business partner across functional areas to support risk frameworks across the firm’s entities. Alongside this, I also work as a Research Assistant on a faculty led project in partnership with CryptoUK, examining blockchain applications for AML compliance and financial transparency within financial institutions. This includes analysing emerging regulatory frameworks and preparing research outputs for both academic and industry audiences.

I graduated with a First Class Honours in Business & Marketing at Northumbria University, where I also completed internships across wealth management and private banking. Growing up in a single parent household as the youngest of four, I became the first in my family to go to university and pursue a career in finance. Coming from the North East and a non finance degree background, I know first hand how challenging it can be to access opportunities without a network or any exposure. During my studies, I led the Trading and Investing Society, running LinkedIn, CV, and cover letter workshops and hosting guest speakers from across the industry to help students build skills and understand the sector.

As an ambassador, I’m committed to widening access, championing regional talent, and helping students from all backgrounds see that a career in finance is possible for them. In my spare time I enjoy weight training, reading Harry Potter, and listening to political podcasts.
