I was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, moving to the UK on my own at 17 to continue my education. It was quite the pivot for a teenager, but one that shaped my entire approach to life—making me curious, adaptable, and always keen to learn from other people and cultures.
Entering the world of finance at 21 gave me the privilege of experiencing first-hand how to navigate the industry from the intersectionality of being Black and female. This perspective fuelled my passion for diversity in all its forms; I want to see our industry become truly accessible and to see representation increase at every level.
Throughout my career at buy-side and sell-side firms including Barclays Capital, Standard Bank, and Barings Asset Management — I have remained an active advocate for change. I’ve had the opportunity to chair Black Talent and Women’s Networks and contribute to vital industry initiatives like the Pathway programme, GAIN, TalkAboutBlack, the Bloomberg Buyside Women’s Network, and ELEVATE.
I am truly honoured to be an ambassador for Inclusion in Finance. I look forward to contributing to the progress we all hope to see, because when it comes to changing our industry for the better, every intentional step counts!
