Chair

Baroness Helena Morrissey DBE has over three decades’ experience in the financial services sector. This includes 15 years as CEO of Newton Investment Management, during which time the firm’s assets under management grew from £20 billion to £50 billion.

Baroness Morrissey was Chair of the Investment Association from 2014 to 2017 and was Lead Non-Executive Director at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (formerly the FCO) from July 2020 until June 2022. Today she chairs three financial services companies, including Fidelis Insurance, listed on the NYSE.

In 2010, she founded the 30% Club, a business-led campaign for better gender-balanced boards and is now Chair of Inclusion in Finance.

Twice named by Bloomberg as one of the 50 most influential people in global finance, Baroness Morrissey’s influence has spread beyond finance and the City. She has been described by Fortune magazine as one of the world’s 50 Greatest Leaders and was the Financial Times Person of the Year in 2017. In 2020 she was created Baroness Morrissey of Chapel Green.
