    Exposures and Instruments: Liquid Markets

    CFA UK

This presentation delivers a high-level overview of public market asset classes. The session begins with equities, defining the nature of equity securities before comparing the active and passive investment approaches. It outlines the primary drivers of equity performance, specifically focusing on earnings growth and price-earnings multiples. The focus then shifts to fixed income securities, describing the distinct characteristics of government, corporate, and emerging market bonds; this section also includes a high-level description of how corporate bonds are at times packaged into structured transactions. The presentation concludes with a reference to derivatives, alternatives and to sustainability principles.

    16th June 2026 – 6-7pm

    What is Asset Management
    CFA UK

The asset management industry aims to invest money to help people, companies and charities meet their goals. Those goals could include growing the value of the portfolio and / or providing an income, perhaps while also considering the environmental impact of their investments.

    > How do asset managers help clients achieve their long-term goals?
    > How does it differ from other parts of finance?
    > What type of jobs exist within the asset management industry?
    > And what skills are required for different roles?

This session explores pricing, and the roles played by analysts and market participants across the buy side and sell side. We’ll also look at industry dynamics and how broader forces such as geopolitics, economic conditions, regulation, and taxation influence equity markets.

Own the Asset, Not the Paper: What Tokenisation Means for the Next Generation of Investors

    CFA UK

Every time you buy a share or a fund unit, you don’t actually hold the asset. You hold a claim on a chain of intermediaries.
Tokenisation is changing that relationship by putting ownership directly on-chain. In this talk I’ll explain what that shift looks like in practice, using real examples from building physically-backed tokenised commodity products, and explore what it means for the future of asset management, market access, and the kinds of roles that will exist in finance over the next decade.

    22nd June 2026 – 6-7pm
