Parenting a child whose needs and experiences don’t always fit society’s idea of “typical” can feel challenging at times – but you’re not alone. Many parents share feelings of uncertainty, self-doubt, or confusion about where to turn for support.
Neurodivergence is far more common than many people realise. It’s estimated that around 15–20% of people in the UK, roughly 1 in 7 are neurodivergent. This means there is a wide, growing community of families navigating similar experiences, learning, and supporting one another along the way. This one-hour webinar is designed to reassure, empower, and guide you, offering practical tools and perspectives you can carry forward with confidence.

- Trust your instincts; you know your child better than anyone.
- Be kind to yourself and make space for your own support and wellbeing.
- It’s okay if others don’t always understand, focus on what works for your family.
- Seek support early and continue to check in as your child grows.
- Learn as much as you can – you are your child’s strongest advocate.
- Speak up for your child’s needs with confidence.
- Adapt approaches and create supportive structures that help your child thrive.
- Celebrate progress, big and small – every step matters.
- Connect with other families for shared understanding and encouragement.
- Stay open to learning more about yourself along the journey.
- Your child’s future is full of possibilities.
- Additionally, we will have a panel of parents of neurodivergent children who will be discussing their experiences; followed by an opportunity to ask questions to Dr Mohring and the panel.
