The financial services industry has made progress towards improving gender balance, with this progress beginning to be reflected in workforce representation. However, the continued underrepresentation of women in senior roles highlighted the need for further action to create a profession where women have equal access to opportunities and positive career outcomes.
During International Women’s Day 2021, CFA UK’s Inclusion and Diversity Network hosted a panel discussion exploring how organisations can create inclusive workplace cultures where women’s careers can thrive and achievements are recognised.
The discussion covered:
- The factors that will influence and deliver the next wave of change.
- How a new approach is needed to embed diversity and inclusion into business strategy.
- The opportunities for firms to better serve women as customers.
- How organisations can challenge existing approaches by adopting new ways of thinking and taking action.
- The importance of finding effective metrics to measure progress beyond diversity numbers.
The event was open to CFA UK members, I&D Network members, and non-members.
